Today at the event in New Delhi Xiaomi has finally launched its much awaited and rumored Android One powered smartphone the “Mi A1“. The phone shares some similar internals as Redmi Note 4 and Mi Max 2 but at the same time, it has few new things to offer as well.

Starting with the front, it has a 5.5inch LTPS IPS LCD FULL HD display (403 ppi) with 2.5D curved glass and it also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, unlike Redmi Note 4’s unknown front glass protection.

The main focus of Xiaomi Mi A1 is its dual camera which the company prefers to call “Flagship Dual Cameras“. Both the cameras are 12MP lens but unlike on moto G5s Plus and Lenovo K8 (they both have the same color sensor lens). Xiaomi Mi A1 has one Telescopic Lens which can provide up to 2x optical zoom and another one is Wide Angle Lens.

The camera app comes with some interesting features like Portrait Mode found on rather an expensive Moto G5s Plus, iPhone 7 Plus and OnePlus5. The rear camera can record 4K videos at 30fps while the front camera is just a 5MP like it was found on Mi Max 2 it can record only full HD footage at 30fps.

Talking about the software and hardware, this Mi A1 is powered by Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 which is basically a Cortex-A53 Octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz with Adreno 506. For multitasking, Xiaomi has coupled 4GB of RAM with 64GB of Internal Storage which is expandable via MicroSD care for up to 128GB.

The battery capacity is 3080 mAh Non-removable Li-Ion battery which is less if you compared it with Redmi Note 4 which has 4000mAh. I think that’s why the company didn’t even talk battery capacity at the launch event.

For software, Xiaomi partnered with Google Inc. for providing faster and smoother performance with Android One. At the launch event, we even got know that Xiaomi Mi A1 will get Android Oreo before 2017 and it will also be the first few smartphone to get Android P.

For those who don’t know what Android One is? The Android One program was started by Google to provide smartphone experience in villages and smaller areas with an ultra affordable smartphone price. Other advantages of Android One are Same like Stock AndroidFaster Updates, Monthly Security Patches and No bloatware.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 will cost you around Rs.14999/- for 4GB & 64GB variant and it will be available in three different colors Matte Black, Rose Gold and Gold.

It will go on sale from 12 September on Flipkart and Mi India official site. This will be the Xiaomi’s second smartphone to be available in Offline Market on the same date i.e. 12 September, first being Mi Max 2.
