After a long wait, Nokia has finally launched its Flagship device for 2017 with some pretty good specification for its Nokia 8. HMD Global is even claiming “With the Nokia 8 – we wanted to create the ultimate tool to tell our story”.
Nokia 8 comes with the same Metal Unibody design with 6000 series aluminum like Nokia 6 and Nokia 5. It now measures 7.9mm at its thickest point but a far cry from its competition Moto Z2 Force with 6.1 mm thickness. This time around Nokia even has an IP54 rating that will make it splash proof rather than Water Resistance like the Samsung Galaxy S8 duo.
The Nokia 8 has 5.2inch Quad HD IPS LCD panel with a pixel density of around 554ppi and its brightness gets up to 700nits which is quite good. On the front, we have 2.5D curved which makes it smoother around the corner and protection we have Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Carl Zeiss makes a comeback here with their Dual Camera setup, features two 13MP Camera (Color + Monochrome sensor) just like Huwaei Honor 9 with 1.12µm pixels and a f/2.0 aperture. The color sensor also has Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), Laser Auto Focus and dual tone LED Flash, No Xeon Flash this time.
At the front, we have a 13MP camera sensor (1.12µm pixels) with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus). We have some extra features like Live Streaming to Youtube or Facebook directly from the front and rear camera at the same time and OZO Audio recording features with their camera app, which HMD calls Dual Sight.
Just like any other 2017 Flagship the Nokia 8 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 which is an Octa-core Processor clocking at 4×2.45 GHz Kryo & 4×1.9 GHz Kryo with Adreno 540 on board for graphics department. We have two Storage and RAM options one is 4GB RAM/64GB & 6GB RAM/128GB of Internal Storage that can be expanded via microSD slot which takes up to 256GB card but it uses your Sim 2 slot.
